Jessie's birthday....

Jessie's birthday
We've had  our doggie Jessie a year today!
We love her so much we can't remember what life was like before we had her.
Me and Charlie wanted to get a Colin the Caterpillar cake (we all have yummy Colin the Caterpillar cakes when it's our birthdays), but Mandy said chocolate can make doggies poorly...... So we are going to have secret Colin the Caterpillar cake for us, whoopee! and a cake made out of doggie biscuits for Jessie.

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Jessie, happy birthday to you. Hip, hip, hooray for Jessie!

Country fair....

Today we all went to a country fair.
There were lots of things to do and loads of people there. I had hoped to meet some other platypuses but there were none there.
There was a doggie competition though so I entered Jessie.
We had to walk around the competition ring and do some tricks, like the ones we do at puppy training classes.
We won two rosettes!
Well when I say we I really mean me!
Jessie was so happy she give me a big wet lick on the face - yuck!
I said to the man judging the competition that next year they should have a competition for the best platypus at the show........

David's playing bottom!

Did I mention in a previous blog that I now have an audio book?
Well just in case I didn't "I've got an audio book!"
Well the nice man, (David to his friends... He's a famous actor you know!) recorded two of my adventures onto a lovely shiny disc that Mandy can play in the car when we are on a long journey.
Well, Mandy and Steve were talking about an article written about my actor friend, it said "David Gurney's Bottom was excellent".
Well how rude.....
Mandy explained Bottom was the name of the character David was playing.
Charlie thought he must have been playing the back end of a pantomime horse!
Mandy explained that Bottom was the name of the character David was playing in a Midsummer nights dream a Shakespeare play. I wonder whether there are any platypuses in any of his plays???
He's now off to play Sherlock Holmes at the Edinburgh festival
It's a mystery where he gets the time...
Off to find out if Hamlet was a platypus...
